For equestrian use, deposits of silica sand capable of performing under arena conditions, are few and far between, and are carefully selected for the task. Silica sand performs very well in all conditions. However, wet conditions are favoured for this surface.

Capable of handling all disciplines, the sand arena is a great starting arena, and can be easily expanded into a rubber fibre or fibre surface at a later date. This is a great place to start, and if done correctly, will be a great investment whether expanding the arena to the highest standard surface you will not be back stepping.
All the mix-in and performance stabilizers are designed to blend with silica. Silica alone unfortuneately struggles in extreme weather conditions. It can freeze in winter and become dusty in summer. To relieve this, add rubber fibre.

Wood Fibre

Having rose from the death a few years ago, wood fibre is now holding it’s own on performance with other surfaces.
